Obituary for Claude R. Harrison

Piscataway, NJ – Claude R. Harrison, 83, passed away at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick on January 4, 2019. Born in Los Angeles, CA to the late Raymond and Mary (Winkle) Harrison, Claude settled to Piscataway in 1963.

An honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, Claude served his country proudly during the Korean War as a SP3. He retired as a mechanic with Whitestone Products, formerly of Piscataway and enjoyed all his time spent with his family. Claude loved to enjoy Sunday dinners and watching movies with his son Alex and could be found gaming with Michael.

A great, loving man who will be missed dearly, Claude leaves behind his family; sons Alexander Harrison and his wife Theresa of Piscataway, Michael Harrison of Rhode Island and daughter Susan Eck of Bakersfield, CA, four beautiful grandchildren; Sherry Harrison and her fiancé Patrick Sinclair of Hillsborough, Christine Schleppy and husband David of Montgomery, Autumn Harrison of Rhode Island and Dennis Harrison of Bakersfield, CA along with seven great-grandchildren.

Claude was preceded in death by his son Stephen Harrison who died in 2004.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 beginning 11:00 am at the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. A service reflecting Claude’s life will take place at noon with military honors to follow.
