Marie Cwiek
Age: 93 * Formerly of Middlesex
Formerly of Middlesex – Marie (Ankerway) Cwiek, 93, passed away peacefully at Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown. Born in Moscow, PA to the late Joseph and Helen (Kominowski) Ankerway, Marie lived in Piscataway before moving to Middlesex in 1961.
In 1991, Marie retired from Rutgers University after over twenty years of staff employment. She was a former member of the Resurrection Polish National Church in Dunellen. Marie had a passion for gardening which she passed down to her children and grandchildren. She loved trips to the Jersey Shore and Walt Disney World with her family. During retirement, she enjoyed spending her winters in Florida.
Predeceased by her husband Edward in 1995 and her brother Frank Ankerway, formerly of Springbrook Township, PA, Marie leaves behind her siblings: Shirley Justick, Alfred Ankerway and his wife Ann and Martin Ankerway, all of Springbrook Township, PA. She will be missed by her son Ronald Cwiek and his wife Joyce of Daytona Beach, FL, daughter Linda Natoli and her husband William of Columbia, NJ and son Edward Cwiek and his wife Christine of Glendale, AZ. Marie will be missed by her grandchildren: Brian E. Cwiek and his wife Yanyan Zhou of Whitehouse Station; William Natoli, Jr. of Middlesex; Gina Marie Natoli and her son Anthony James of Prospect Park, PA; Dominick Natoli of Glen Gardner; Cecelia Natoli of Middlesex; Kara Lukac, her husband David, and their sons Connor and Caleb, all of Glendale, AZ; Kimberli Cwiek of Glendale, AZ; and Kyle Cwiek of Glendale, AZ.
Visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Tuesday, May 16.
Marie will be laid to rest beside her husband in the family plot of Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marie’s name sent to Guiding Eyes for the Blind (guidingeyes.org) would be appreciated.
