

Obituary of John P. Anesh
South Plainfield – John P. Anesh, 84, a child of God, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at JFK Medical Center, Edison.
Born in Jersey City to the late Peter and Mary (Pitera) Anesh, he is predeceased by Anna, the mother of their children, his sister Jane Ketterer and his brothers Paul and Joseph. John resided in New Providence, NJ prior to settling into South Plainfield in 1966 where he raised his seven children.
John enlisted in 1959 with the United States Navy and courageously served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1963. He worked as a supervisor with Honeywell, Inc. in South Plainfield.
A dedicated member of the Borough of South Plainfield, John is a life member of the South Plainfield Rescue Squad, as well as a Third Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 6203 and the South Plainfield Communication Emergency Response Team. John enjoyed amateur radio as a hobby.
Surviving are his seven children, John Anesh and wife Holly, Michael Anesh and wife Tina, Matthew Anesh and wife Kimberly, Jeffrey Anesh and wife Dorothy, June McConville and husband John, Joan Rochotte and husband Michael and Marie Sansone and husband James.
He will also be missed by his cherished eighteen grandchildren; siblings, Frank Anesh and wife Nola, James Anesh and wife Joanne, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 9AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080 at 10AM.
Private burial and military honors will follow mass in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
Family and friends may join together for visitation on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 3:30PM – 7:30PM in the funeral home.
