Obituary of Joseph A. DiCanto, Jr.
South Plainfield, NJ – Joseph A. DiCanto, Jr., 70, passed away suddenly at his residence on May 1, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Joseph A. Sr., and Anna (Simonetti) DiCanto, Joe was a resident of South Plainfield most of his life.

An avid sports fan, Joe enjoyed watching the NY Jets, NY Rangers and the NY Mets. Joe and Diane enjoyed travelling, and loved visiting the beaches, especially those in the Caribbean. Above all thing, family meant the world to him and was known as the “Coolest Uncle EVER!” Everywhere he went, he brought a bag of tricks with him – from balloons to candy, he loved children.
Joe leaves behind his loving companion of fifty-two years, Diane Zwolak, and his sisters; Maryanne Zetterstrom and her husband Dennis of Berkeley Heights and Nanette Shaw and her husband Brian of South Plainfield. “Skunckle” as his eight nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews would call him.
