Aniello D’Antuono, of Somerset, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026, in Somerset, NJ. He was 79 years old.
Aniello was born on November 30, 1946, in Maddaloni, Italy, to the late Francesco and Antonietta D’Antuono. Proud of his Italian heritage, he carried his traditions, values, and love of family with him throughout his life, sharing stories of his past and his roots with his grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply.
Aniello enjoyed a distinguished professional career as a Chemical Process Engineer, working for several respected companies both internationally and in the United States, including Hoechst in Frankfurt, Germany; Degussa in South Plainfield, NJ; American Cyanmid in Bridgewater, NJ; and Robertet in Piscataway, NJ.
A man of many interests, Aniello was an active member of the Canal Walk Italian American Club and the Canal Walk Men’s Poker Club. He loved traveling and cruising with his family, taking trips to Atlantic City, and spending time creating memories with his five beloved grandchildren. Known affectionately as the “Tiramisu Master,” he delighted family and friends with his culinary talents. He was also a true handyman extraordinaire, always willing and able to fix or build whatever was needed.
Above all, Aniello was a true gentleman who always put his family first.
Aniello is survived by his beloved wife, Francesca D’Antuono, of Somerset, NJ; his daughter, Antonietta Estadt, of Archbald, PA; and his grandchildren, Angelina Estadt, Brooks Estadt II, and Gabriella Estadt, all of Archbald, PA; Nick D’Antuono, of Manville, NJ; and Johnny D’Antuono, of Hopewell, NJ. He is also survived by Melinda D’Antuono, of Hillsborough, NJ, and his future son-in-law, Mario Meise, of Flemington, NJ.
He is further survived by his brothers-in-law, Clemente Bottone and family of South Plainfield, NJ, and Louie Bottone and family of North Carolina; his sister, Rosa D’Antuono, and family of Frankfurt, Germany; and his brothers, Mario D’Antuono and Giuseppe D’Antuono, and their families, also of Frankfurt, Germany.
Aniello was predeceased by his beloved son, Frank D’Antuono.
His memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
The visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, from 9–11am in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
The funeral mass will follow at 11:30am at Church of the Sacred Heart, South Plainfield.
Following mass, Aniello will be placed to rest in the family crypt at Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield.
The family has specifically requested that all flowers and mass cards please be withheld and consider making a donation to further benefit the Italian American Scholarship Fund CWHOAAF.
