Cassidy Doty, 29, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at his home in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Born in Somerville, New Jersey, to Mary Frances Doty (née Richardson) and Craig Doty, Cassidy spent his early childhood in Dunellen, NJ. He later lived for several years in Tucson, Arizona, before settling in Middlesex, NJ, where he spent more than a decade and graduated from Middlesex High School in 2015.

Working in the restaurant industry was Cassidy’s very first job and his first love. From the beginning, he felt comfortable in the rhythm and creativity of restaurant life. Although he later worked in construction, demolition, and epoxy flooring, his true interest remained in cooking. Preparing meals was more than a job to him; it was something he genuinely enjoyed. Most recently, he worked as a cook at Mutiny Beach in Asbury Park.

He loved food in every sense, cooking it, sharing it, and enjoying it, especially dessert. Those who knew him will remember his thoughtful nature and the care he showed to the people closest to him.

Cassidy had a strong appreciation for music, ranging from classic rock to underground rap. He not only listened, but also wrote his own lyrics. He enjoyed reading and writing from a young age and carried that creativity with him throughout his life.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Lynne and Albert Doty, and his maternal grandparents, Sharon Williams Harvan and John Richardson.

Cassidy leaves behind his wife, Caprice (née Adams) Doty, to whom he was married just short of one year; his parents, Craig Doty, Mary Frances Doty and her fiancé, John McArdle. He  also leaves behind his younger brothers, Tynan and Ryder; his aunts and uncles, Cheryl and Chuck Henriques, and Christina and John Garripoli; along with many cousins, extended family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex, NJ, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 10:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 AM prior to the Mass.
