Obituary of Wallace E. Schuff

South Plainfield, NJ - Wallace E. "Wally" Schuff, 87, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Plainfield to his late parents George Arthur and Mae Ruth (Gratrex) Schuff, Wally has been a resident of South Plainfield for many years. After twenty years of service to the City of Plainfield, Wally retired as a fireman in 1971. He then continued working for channel 13, NJ Communications in Atlantic City and the Piscataway Board of Education where he worked with computers and electronics, Wally loved to stay busy and enjoyed being outside. He had a passion for drag racing, flying planes, taking trips to Atlantic City, building and sailing boats, snorkeling and playing the organ. He enjoyed being active with the Senior Center and had a love for his grand-puppy, Allie. Predeceased by his brother George, Wally leaves behind his loving wife of sixty-one years Caroline Schuff, their three dear children; Walter Schuff of South Plainfield, Ruth Capwell and her husband Steve and Carol Esolda and her husband Billy, all of Hillsborough. Wally will be missed by his four adored grandchildren; Sean and Adam Capwell and Amanda and Alex Esolda. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by an 11:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent to Community Care Hospice, 110 West End Avenue, Somerville, NJ 08876 would be appreciated.
