Obituary of Thaddeus "Ted" Zychlinski

South Plainfield - Thaddeus "Ted" Zychlinski, 86, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville. Born in New Brunswick, Ted was a resident of South Plainfield and was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Ted worked for USPS as a letter carrier for over thirty years before retiring. In his younger years, he was the director of the Silver Lancers Drum Bugle Corps in Dunellen and enjoyed skiing. Predeceased by his first wife, Bernice who died in 1962; surviving are his wife, Marissa (Galvez); eight children, Ted Zychlinski and wife Nina, Raymond Zychlinski, Lorraine Zychlinski, Susan Betsko and husband Thomas, Joan Stahl, Veena Zychlinski, Isabel Zychlinski and David Zychlinski. He will also be missed by his four grandchildren, Timothy, Kristen, Leslie and Jordyn. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 9:30AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Fatima at 10:30AM. Burial will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday from 2-4PM & 7-9PM in the funeral home.
