Obituary of Eleanor Mortland

Edison, NJ - Eleanor Alice (Lunceford) Mortland, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at her daughter's home in Edison surrounded by her loving family. Born in Crawfordville, GA to her late parents Ralph and Marion (Noble) Lunceford, she has lived in Edison since 1967. When Eleanor was 18, her life was radically changed when she committed her life to the Lord Jesus Christ. She attended Toccoa Falls Bible College and was called to serve as a missionary to children in post-war Korea. It was during her five years there that she met the love of her life, George Mortland who died in 2010. She worked as an International Distribution Coordinator at Revlon in Edison. After her Lord, her family was her number one priority in life, whether it was extended or immediate, she was the glue that held the family together. She also had a love for helping those less fortunate and would always lend a helping hand or even open her home when needed. She has been a faithful member of Cedarcroft Bible Chapel for 49 years. She is survived by her loving children; Dena Haney of Wilmington, NC, George Thomas, III and his wife Jaime of Hamilton, Stephen Ralph and his wife Erika of Upland, IN and Alice Carroll and her husband David of Edison. She will be missed dearly by her dear friend, Donna Beleski (who was like a daughter to her,) her siblings; Alex Lunceford of Warner Robins, GA and Pat McGinn of Las Vegas, NV, seventeen loving grandchildren, two adored great-grandchildren and eighteen cherished nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Cedar Croft Bible Chapel, 1715 Kenyon Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 for a 3:00 pm funeral service. Burial will take place 12:30pm on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
