Obituary of Myles F. Whittington

Myles F. Whittington, 64, passed away October 16, 2014 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born on Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, he grew up in an Air Force family which meant they lived all throughout the country and even abroad. Mr. Whittington settled in Piscataway in 1988.He proudly served an enlistment in the United States Army from 1970 1981, having served overseas with the Special Forces and finished his career as Staff Sergeant. After his dedicated service, he excelled in a civilian career as a Telecommunications Engineer. Myles was an avid music lover. He was a talented guitar player with a profound appreciation for the blues. Most importantly, he was a proud and loving father.Myles was predeceased by his daughter Rebecca A. Rutherford. Surviving are his loving wife of 29 years, Mrs. Fawn Wang-Whittington; his children Jennifer A. Rutherford, Lita Marie Wills and her husband Jeff, Serena Piorro and her husband Nelson and Rex F. Whittington; his sister Glenna Jean Whittington; his niece Julie Price; his nephew Danny Jacobs and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Myles' name to the WoundedWarriorProject.org/donate.
