聽到這個不幸的消息時，真的非常難過，也非常不捨！ 我記憶中的老馬，始終是一付笑臉，縂是想要照顧每一個人，總是想到別人，每次到他們家，一定讓你賓至如歸，所以我們同學聚會，非他們家莫屬. 我印象很深的是，有一年楊慧君要帶孩子們南下佛羅里達玩，他不放心楊慧君自己開車，就開車送他們南下，到了以後再自己坐飛機回來，我那時就想，也就只有老馬能做到這樣了！ 我們都會懷念你，老馬！

小玉， 你很幸運和老馬夫妻三十多年，老馬永遠幫助別人，為別人着想，記得多年前他妹夫在 Baltimore 開餐廳，他週末常常帶着你們一家開四五個小時去幫忙，我當時就覺得他妹好幸運有這麼一個好哥哥。 在你們那個百花齊放，一塵不染的家，茇現老馬是多麼的體貼老婆和照顧老同學，他一下班回家馬上幫忙晚餐，他說小玉忙了一天很辛苦，他要盡量幫忙，我當時就覺得㚷好幸運嫁給了這麼一個體貼的老公。週末他搶著帶我們出去玩和晚餐，帶我們開着老遠去最好吃的餐廳，譲我們在餐廳門口下車，自己去找地方停車，匆忙趕回來幫我們奌最爽口的菜，吃了一半又趕去付錢，閞車來接我們，真是照顧得無微不致。 老馬得病不能自理，他還是為別人著想，他快快的走了， 以免連累太々和家人。 小玉，你和孩子們很幸運的得到老馬照願這麼多年，他會永遠活在我們大家的心中。

老馬,
我們夫妻37年，你對這個家的愛，永遠是只做不說，在婚姻的路上，不論個性的差異有多大，不管起伏有多少，我們也都 走過來了，最後我還是感謝神，賜給我一個好伴侶。
在我陪你走完人生最後的旅程這兩年，我眼看你身心所承受的，真是筆墨難以形容，你好苦，而在一旁的我，那種愛莫能助的無力感，也夠是叫我手足無措。
説實在的，你真是一個難得一見的好人，你的好心和週到，經常叫我自形慚愧，你的艱忍耐勞的毅力，也經常叫我望塵莫及。
如今，你真的是安息主懷，放下人世間的勞苦重擔，得到永遠的平靜，我只能告訴你，我和孩子以擁有你為傲。

老馬
他是個好人,對誰都好.
他對父母好,從小就心疼及呵護他母親.
他對老婆好,拼命努力賺錢,什麼活都想幫老婆幹.
他對子女好,疼愛照顧得無微不至,更有先見之明,恨不得兒女早早獨立.
他對朋友好,大夥兒到新澤西作客,他是主人掏錢請客,他到德州作客時也搶著掏錢.
他是個大好人,還怕自己不夠好.
老馬做事非常認真,個性嚴肅,在當男儐相時,拼命完成他擋酒的任務,他會買好酒給老婆和老友們喝,自己則在旁笑咪咪陪客.
好人有好報的,老婆把家裡裡外外打點得好好的,要旅行有旅行,要乾淨有乾淨,維持他這潔癖可不打折扣的,嚴肅生活中也享受到家人帶給他的無限歡樂,看照片中的他笑得多燦爛.老婆和兒女們悉心照顧到最終,這是福氣啊.
老馬:您這一輩子應過得了無遺憾,走也走得痛快,您永遠都為他人著想.對老孫和我.您是:

Herng was born on September 9, 1947 in Nanjing (南京), China, but grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. He is the second of four children. In 1980, he left Taiwan for America in order to pursue a graduate degree in Computer Science and make a better life for himself. He received his Masters degree from Stevens University in 1981 and began working in Rhode Island. He loved his work, and would take the greatest joy in figuring out a solution to a challenging problem. He spent the last 11 years working at the Bank of Toyko-Mitsubishi.
The last two years before his passing were especially difficult, both for himself and his family. In the summer of 2013, he had developed extreme weakness in his left arm. He underwent a successful operation, but lost most use of both arms. Intensive rehab did not help much. Several months ago, his legs began to weaken and he was sent back to the hospital. On July 22nd, 2015, he had the first of two additional surgeries. The final surgeries went well, but this time his heart was not strong enough to keep up. He passed on August 6, 2015.
Herng is survived by his wife, Joan Ma, and his children Petrina and Matthew Ma.
