South River - Stephen J. "Mock" Markowitz, 75, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City to his late parents Stephen J. and Palma (Maselli) Markowitz, he lived in Middlesex most of his life until moving in with his son and daughter-in-law in 2010.
A 1958 graduate of Bound Brook High School, he served his country during the Vietnam Era in the Army Reserves. A very well-known bartender throughout the area, Mock worked at Kerwins, Lincoln Hotel, Dewey Park and Pizza & Pasta over the years. Mock was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Piscataway and was an avid NY Giants and NY Yankees fan.
Predeceased by his sister Mary, Mock leaves behind his loving and devoted family; son Stephen J. and his wife Susan Markowitz of South River, daughter Stephanie Tocci Markowitz of Piscataway and granddaughter Angela DiCecco of Middlesex.
Visitation will be held in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 5-9pm and on Saturday, November 19, 2016 beginning at 9:30 am.
On Saturday, November 19, 2016, funeral services will begin 10:00 am in the funeral home followed by burial at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
