Jan Malok WWII Polish Paratrooper, 90 Jan Malok, 90, died on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerset. Jan was born June 16, 1926 in Sucha Gora, Poland. He was forced, against his will into the German Military and escaped at his first opportunity while in France. Through the Polish underground, Jan made his way to England and joined and trained with the 1st Independent Polish Parachute Brigade under General Sosabowski. After the war he was part of the occupation forces in Germany and then resided in England working for the English Rail System. In 1952, Jan immigrated to the United States as part of the quota allotment for those who served in Allied Forces under the command of General Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was employed in various capacities for several different companies. Mr. Malok ultimately spent 36 years building and repairing newspaper printing presses worldwide, as a machinist with Man Roland Inc., Middlesex, NJ. Jan was very active and held various leadership positions throughout the years in The Polish Falcons. He was also a member of The Polish Paratroopers Association, Polish Center of John Paul II in Clearwater, FL, Polish Army Veterans Association #99 in Harrison, NJ, 82nd Airborne Division, International Association of Machinists Union, and an active parishioner at St. Bernard & St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Plainfield. Jan enjoyed nature, gardening, fishing, traveling, playing the accordion and organ, but most of all, spending time with his family. Jan will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Maria (nee Lysy); sister Stefania Zyla of Sucha Gora, Poland; son Edward Malok and his wife Cathy; daughter Teresa Malok Londino and her husband Anthony; son, Mark Malok and son, Andre Malok and his wife Shannon. He will also be missed by seven grandchildren, Stefanie Londino, Brian Malok, Michael Londino, Jeston Malok, Taylor Marie Londino, Julia Malok and Olivia Malok. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Bernard & St. Stanislaus Church, 368 Sumner Avenue Plainfield NJ 07062 on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 10AM. Interment will follow in The Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, Doylestown, PA. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7pm in Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road Piscataway NJ 08854. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jan's memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200 Rye Brook, NY 10573.
