Louisville, KY - Frieda Ann Walker, 94, died Saturday March 5, 2016 at Oak Lawn Nursing & Rehab Center in Louisville, KY. Born in Upstate, New York, Frieda resided in South Plainfield for 90 years before relocating to Louisville, KY with her daughter Karen Torsky. She worked as an assistant to an oral surgeon in Plainfield for over 20 years. Frieda was a member of the South Plainfield Suburban Woman's Club for over 50 years where she served as President and in other capacities over the years. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to a Bridge Club in South Plainfield and recently was playing Gin Rummy every day for the past 2 years. Predeceased by her first husband who died in WWII, Frederick Force and her second husband, Howard L. Walker, surviving are her children, Barry Walker and wife Debbie of Florida and Karen Torsky and husband John of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Michelle Lewis and her husband Robert, Todd Walker, John Torsky III , Christopher Torsky and his wife Amanda, and two great grandchildren Danielle Walker and Grant Lewis. Funeral services will begin on Monday, March 14, 2015 at 11AM in South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by burial in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Family and friend may join in visitation on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00pm and Monday from 9:00 - 11:00am in the funeral home.
