South Plainfield, NJ - Marie R. Husjoke (Calabrese), 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at her home in South Plainfield. Born and Raised in Newark, Marie later settled in South Plainfield in 1992. Marie is a member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. She was a member of the Alter Rosary Society. Marie was active in the RENEW Program of the Arch Diocese of Newark for over 10 years, assisting in their work of parish spiritual renewal and evangelization. She also volunteered at Lyons VA Hospital and was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxillary Father Owens Post #1187. She is predeceased by her brother, Thomas Calabrese. Surviving are her loving husband, George Husjoke of South Plainfield; children, Debra Pinto and husband Matthew of South Plainfield, and Lisa Gerber and husband James of South Plainfield; and sister Angelina Conger of Florida. She will also be missed by her beloved grandchildren, Genna, Gerianna, and James. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10:30AM in South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Cremation will be held privately. Burial will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday from 7-9PM in the funeral home. Donations can be made to the Haven Hospice c/o JFK Medical Center, 65 James St., Edison, NJ 08820.
