Obituary of George David Higgins

York, PA - George David Higgins, 77, passed away on September 16, 2018 after complications suffered from an automobile accident. Born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Alexander and Irene (Stanley) Higgins, George was a lifelong resident of the NJ and PA area.
In 1962, George was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps. after faithfully serving his country for four years. During his time in the Marine Corps., George received the Good Conduct Medal and attained the rank of E-3.
He had a love for his work and enjoyed all his time spent at Just Plain Dave's located in Rahway, NJ. As a delivery driver, he met numerous people and loved every minute of making new friends. He always had a smile to give to someone who did not have one, and all those people whose lives he touched will truly miss the "Wovs Ya" he often said.
George leaves behind his beloved sons: Eric Higgins and his girlfriend Tammy Potter of Thomasville, PA and Richard Higgins and his wife Tammy of York, PA. George will be missed deeply by his five adored grandchildren: Matthew, Stevi, Olivia, Sam and Grace, cherished great-granddaughter Hensley and dear siblings: Mildred, Peter, JoAnn, Cheryl, Linda and Joyce. George, lovingly called Uncle, also leaves behind countless nieces and nephews - some related and some not - all of whom he adored. George is predeceased by four siblings: Irene, Estella, Alexander and Cory.
At the request of the family, George will be laid to rest privately at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, NJ. Those wishing to honor George, please send memorial donations to your local Marine Corps. League.
A gathering celebrating his life will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 29th at Molly Maguires, 1085 Central Avenue, Clark, NJ 07066.
