Obituary of Epaminondas Kostidis

Piscataway, NJ - At the age of 89, Epaminondas Kostidis, known to many as "Nondas," passed away at his residence on December 19, 2018. Born in Andros, Greece to the late Kostantinos and Chrisoula (Liopiros) Kostidis, Epaminondas immigrated to the United State in 1975, living in Highland Park, Edison, Middlesex and eventually settling to Piscataway. A painter by trade, he also assisted at the family restaurant, The Golden Corner Diner in Bound Brook where he was the bread maker. While living in Greece, he served in the Greek Army. He belonged to St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway and was a caring and quiet man who loved his family; especially his six great nieces and nephews. Epaminondas is survived by his loving and devoted family; wife Eleni of sixty-two years, son Mattheus, brother Kostantinos, brother-in-law Nick and his wife Voula Bonis, niece Argie Glynos and her husband Kostas, nephew Dino Bonis and his wife Carrie along with great nieces and nephews; Vicci, Anna and Nicole Glynos and Niko, Michael and Jaquelyn Bonis. Visitation will be held in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Beginning 7:00 pm, the Very Reverend Nektarios Cottros of St. George Greek Orthodox Church will have a funeral service. Epaminondas will be buried in the family plot in Andros, Greece.
