Obituary of Stanley A. Strokis

Piscataway - Stanley A. Strokis, 88, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at JFK Medical Center, Edison.
Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Stanley was a salesman residing in many areas before settling with his family to Piscataway in 1966. He retired after a successful career with Home - Like Foods in New Brunswick over twenty years ago.
In his younger years, "Stan The Man ", was an avid bowler, with numerous 300 games to his name. He was an avid Civil War buff, with a love for Gettysburg and other civil war sites, that he often enjoyed visiting. Stan loved to collect Civil War books as part of his passion.
Stanley was a devoted communicant of St. Frances Cabrini in Piscataway, active in the church community and one of their lectures.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Joan (Norland) Strokis formerly of Piscataway and three children, Susan Clark and husband Roger of Washington, Steve Strokis and wife JoAnn of South Carolina, and John Strokis and wife Maura of Texas.
He will also be missed by his six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin on Thursday, January 10, 2019 in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway NJ 07080 at 9AM followed by Funeral Mass in St. Frances Cabrini Church, 208 Bound Brook Avenue, Piscataway NJ 08854 at 10AM.
Entombment will follow in Lake Nelson Cemetery, Piscataway.
