Richard W. Moran
South Plainfield Resident
South Plainfield, NJ - Richard W. Moran of South Plainfield passed away at his home on July 23, 2008.
He was born on April 28, 1937 in New Brunswick, to the late Daniel and Ethel Moran.
After graduating in 1955 from his beloved alma mater, St. Peter's High School, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Army, from which he received his Honorable Discharge. He had worked for New Jersey Bell and retired after 35 years of service.
He was married for 43 years to Joan E. Moran, who passed away last month.
He was a member of South Plainfield's Sacred Heart Parish, as well as a member of American Legion Chaumont Post 243.
Richard is survived and will be greatly missed by his son Daniel and daughter-in-law Deirdre; daughter Patricia and son-in-law Robert Micks; brother Daniel and sister-in-law Priscilla; brother James and sister-in-law Evelyn; sister-in-law and husband Evelyn and Stephen Toplolancik; sister-in-law and husband Nancy and John Ivan; grandchildren Thomas, Francis, Bridget, James, and Henry Moran and Ryan and Riley Micks; and numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 beginning 9:15 AM at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield.
Burial will follow in the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 5 PM until 9PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Legion, Chaumont Post 243, 243 Oak Tree Road, South Plainfield, NJ 07080
