Sten E. Hodgson
Scotch Plains - Sten Eric Hodgson died peacefully at home on Saturday, June 6, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer.
He leaves behind wife Elayne a daughter Kim, his sons Garry and wife Mary, and Brian. He was predeceased by his eldest son Sten II in 1992. He was also blessed with four beautiful granddaughters Julia, Erin, Leah and Kelsey.
An avid tennis player, he continued to play his entire life.
Sten was an engineer and later a manager at Western Electric and Lucent Technologies until he retired. He held an engineering degree from IIT and an MBA from Rutgers University.
He served in the European Theater in WWII, as a navigator in the 460th Bomb Group in the Army Air Corps. He was awarded numerous medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross.
We will celebrate his life at a memorial service on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Rd., Morristown, NJ.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield
