Obituary of Lillian N. Cocorikis
Monroe – Lillian N. Cocorikis, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, surrounded by family at her Monroe Village residence in Monroe Township.
Born and raised in New York City, Lillian and her family moved to Wanaque in 1972. In 2006, she retired to Milford, DE with her beloved late husband, William, before settling in Monroe in 2012.
A bookkeeper for various North Jersey small businesses in construction supply, Lillian worked in that same capacity for AT&T.
Active with her children during their childhood, Lillian was den mother for the boy scouts, a girl scout leader, and PTO member and president. She also enjoyed spending time cheering on her children at various sporting events. She found joy in her grandchildren and enjoyed knitting, baking, cooking as well as playing bridge and canasta. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Predeceased by her husband of 45 years, who passed in June of 2007, William T. Cocorikis; surviving are her three children, Todd Cocorikis and wife Gail of Monroe, NJ, Martin Cocorikis of Monee, IL, and Stacy Grimaldi and husband Anthony Jr. of South Plainfield.
She will also be missed by her six grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Benjamin, Robert, Anthony III, and Emily.
South Plainfield Funeral Home has been entrusted with Lillian’s funeral arrangements, which include visiting on Sunday from 2-5 PM.
Funeral services will begin on Monday at 10:30AM at South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080.
Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
