Obituary of Barbara Ann Usavage
Barbara Usavage was born on September 27, 1941 in Queens, NY. She went to high school in Kingston, PA where she met her high school sweetheart and forever soulmate, Stanley “Stosh” Usavage. Stan and Barbara were wed and began their family there before ultimately settling and raising their children in Manville, NJ. Stan and Barbara retired to sunny Cape Coral, FL. Barbara has passed after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer on February 27, 2019.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Stanley, and her children; Stan (Rita), Lynne (Kamran), Kenny (Shannon), John, and Molly (Bob). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Cassandra and Chloe, Geoffrey and Ali, Nichole, Rikki, RJ, Ryan, and Angela, and her great-grandchildren; Hawkins and Bea, Chase, Alanis, Javier, and Sebastian, as well as many aunts, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother, Margaret Bednarski and son, Timothy “Timmy” Usavage, whom she joins in Heaven.
Barbara loved to travel. Barbara was a nurse at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. She also was a nursing instructor at Middlesex County Vocational School. Barbara also was a communicant of St. Mary's of Czestochowa in Bound Brook and Our Lady of Mercy in South Bound Brook. She was always active in her churches as a lecturer, Eucharistic minister, and member of the Altar Rosary Society and of the choir, a CCD teacher, and founder of the youth group “Children of Mary.”
