Obituary of Carol Winberry

Carol Winberry, 65, died on Wednesday, April, 17, 2019 at home.

Born in Plainfield, Carol grew up in South Plainfield and graduated from South Plainfield High School and Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, MA. with a BS Degree in Nursing.

Carol was a woman who passionately loved her family and served her God. She enjoyed music, laughter and making new friends wherever she went.

A Registered Nurse for more than 40 years, Carol worked in all fields of patient care. Her most gratifying achievement throughout her career was serving in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. where she helped test new field hospitals that eventually were deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

She was a skilled photographer who took great pleasure in capturing images of family, nature and the many exciting places visited during trips throughout the United States and overseas. Most recently, they completed a long held goal of exploring Australia and New Zealand.

Surviving is her husband, Paul; brother, Raymond Weeks and his wife Sandra and their children Emily and Mollie all of Wayne, NJ; aunt, Claire Barre; cousin, Scott both of Meriden, CT and cousin, John Scott of Ocala, FL.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 9:15am in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10am funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church South Plainfield.

Entombment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 5-8pm in the funeral home.
