Obituary of Leo Joseph Cervati, Jr.
South Plainfield, NJ – Leo Joseph Cervati, Jr., 78, passed away surrounded by his children on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Haven Hospice located within JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Union City to the late Leo Joseph, Jr. and Anna (Bollermann) Cervati, once he married, Leo moved to Brick Township, settling to South Plainfield in 1985.
Leo was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. He was co-owner of KC’s Korner in South Plainfield. Prior to, he was employed at the United States Post Office. Leo loved spending time outdoors, especially on the water boating and fishing.
Predeceased by his wife Renata in 2018, Leo leaves behind his daughter Donna Sabbagh of San Diego, CA, son Joseph Cervati and wife Heather of Piscataway and his loving granddaughter Miranda.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2019 at the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a closing religious service beginning at 6:30 pm.
At the request of the family, Leo will be buried privately with his wife at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
