Obituary of Kenneth R. Opdycke
Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth R. Opdycke of Middlesex, NJ entered the Kingdom of Heaven on the evening of December 12, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson – Somerset hospital at the age of 56. Ken is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathleen (Sullivan) Opdycke as well as his two sons, Zachary and Matthew. He also leaves behind his brother David Wineland, sister-in-law Donna and his beautiful niece Tiffany. In addition, Ken has left behind his brother William Hubbard, nephew Will Hubbard and brother Harry DiLonardo.
Raised in Bound Brook, NJ, Ken was predeceased by his mother Anna Marie Opdycke Wineland and his father William Opdycke when Ken was very young. He was then raised by his Aunt Rose Marie Zazenskowski Aldridge.
Ken’s wish was to either be an organ donor or leave his body to Science. He was blessed to be able to do both. Ken’s beautiful blue eyes will give the gift of sight to two people and his other bodily donations will give priceless gifts to others in need - burn victims and bone cancer patients being among them. Ken's remains will then be donated to a teaching organization where he will help students learn how to help others.
A memorial service for Ken will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 on at Middlesex Funeral Home in Middlesex Boro, NJ.
In lieu of flowers Ken's family has requested monetary donations to assist with Ken's final expenses.
