Piscataway, NJ - Elizabeth M. Bradley, known affectionately as Betty, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2019 surrounded by family. Betty was born in Monmouth Junction to Margaret and Abraham Lincoln Jolly, and was the second youngest of eight children. She Graduated from vocational high school with a Foods/Dietary degree and went on to set up the Dietary Foods program at the Boys Vocational School in New Brunswick and North Brunswick Rehabilitation Center. She worked at St. Peter’s Hospital early in her career where she met and married the late Edwin Bradley, Sr. for forty-seven years. Betty has resided in the New Market section of Piscataway for the last sixty-seven years. Betty was a people person and her favorite job was working at JFK Medical Center as the Managing Supervisor of the Coffee shop- a sixty seat full service restaurant. She always enjoyed listening to people share their news of a newborn child or perhaps lending a kind word to a visitor struggling with a sick relative. Betty loved gathering with her family most of all – her two children; Pam & Ed were her pride and joy. She always loved a good laugh, teaching her grandchildren to play poker and rummy, and traveling on Amtrak to see them in Buffalo, N.Y. Reading, watching the Hallmark Channel, and of course a “hot” slot machine in Atlantic City were also her passions. She was a lifelong active member of First Baptist Church of New Market where she served as a Trustee, a Deacon, President of the Congregation, and organized many a church dinner. She also enjoyed volunteering for the FISH organization. She was predeceased by her parents and seven brothers and sisters; Furman Jolly, Abraham Jolly, Miriam Katko, Lillian Bifulco, John Jolly, Dorothy Katko and Rose Christensen, her husband Edwin Bradley Sr. and her longtime partner Albert Tonkens. Survived by her son, Edwin Bradley Jr., his wife Lorraine Abbott, and grandchildren Matthew and Hannah Bradley, her daughter Pam Bradley and partner Aaron Russell, she also leaves behind many dear friends and church members. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to FISH,inc., Dunellen Area www.fishdunellonarea.org or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
