Dennis E. Murphy, 73, died on Friday January 3, 2020, at Care One at The Highlands in Edison. Dennis was born in Brooklyn, New York to James and Yvette Murphy. After graduating from Fort Hamilton high school, Dennis worked for the New York City Housing Authority in Manhattan. After his retirement he relocated to South Plainfield. Dennis was predeceased by his brother Dr. James W. Murphy of Albany, NY. He leaves behind his Daughter, Patricia Heinze and husband, Eric Heinze of South Plainfield; his son, Christopher Murphy of Brooklyn, NY; his sister Carol Murphy, of Manchester, NJ; and his grandchildren, Emily Cortes and Koral Heinze. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday January 11, 2020, from 11 to 2 p.m. at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield. A prayer service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A burial of cremated remains will be held at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Rd, Red Bank, NJ 07701, on Monday January 13, 2020 at 11 a.m.
