Susan Long (nee Venditti) passed peacefully at the age of 97 on February 3, 2020, at Sunrise of Madison. Born in Middlesex, NJ, on February 19, 1922, she was the second child of Carlo and Josephine’s Venditti’s four children. Josephine passed away at a young age and Sue patiently and kindly took care of her father and three brothers, Anthony, Michael and Samuel. Later she met the love of her life, Charles, and the two married in 1955. Stationed in Germany for several years, Charles was a career military officer and the two traveled the world during his service. During her time overseas, she met her best friend Yvonne Antell, whose husband was also stationed in Germany. Sue and Charles settled in Mesa, Arizona in the 1960s where they lived for many years. After the death of Charles, Sue lived with her best friend Yvonne, who also lost her husband. They were roommates and lived in Arizona until Yvonne's death in 2016. In 2016, Susan returned to New Jersey. She is survived by her loving brother Anthony Venditti, niece Bernadette Daborn (Venditti), nephew Anthony Venditti, and sisters-in-law Alice Cerulli and Ethel Whitney. Her husband and brothers, Michael and Samuel, predeceased her. Family and friends are invited to join together on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex for a 12:00 pm funeral mass. Burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
