Obituary of Marc P. Rizzo
Piscataway, NJ – Marc Paul Rizzo, 61, died tragically doing what he loved; helping others. In the early morning of Friday, October 16, 2020, Marc was driving to work and stopped to clear a deer that was in the middle of the road when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Born in South Plainfield to Frank and Josephine (D’Imperio) Rizzo, Marc grew up a “Laker” in the Lake Nelson section of Piscataway where he resided until his death. He worked as an electrician with local #102, most recently employed as an Electrical Technician with the Piscataway Board of Education since 2017.
He was a volunteer fireman with the North Stelton Fire Company. A true friend to everyone he came across, he was a selfless man with a huge heart and a radiant smile that will be missed by all those that knew him. He went out of his way to help others, including strangers and had a love for animals, especially his dogs.
Predeceased by his father Frank Rizzo, Marc leaves behind his son Marc P. Rizzo II and his wife Allison Rizzo of Piscataway, three grandsons; Marc Paul III, Dominic and Joey as well as his mother Josephine Rizzo of Barnegat, brothers; Frank Rizzo of Plainsboro, David and his wife Cathy Rizzo of Arizona, Guy and his wife Jennie Rizzo of Barnegat, sister Carol Caruso and her husband Carmine of Oceanport, many nieces and nephews and his best friend Walter Siegrist of Piscataway. Marc also leaves behind Michelle Amberg Rizzo and her daughters Jaime and Jennifer and their families. In addition, Marc leaves behind his first wife Michelle Patalano Rizzo and the Patalano family.
Visitation will take place in Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 4-8 pm and on Friday, October 23, 2020 beginning 9:30 am.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 9:45 am followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Piscataway. At the request of the family, cremation will be held privately.
