Josefina Conde Tomas: Remembering A Life Well Lived
Josefina Conde Tomas,75, who went by Mom, Tita Joy, Miss Joy, loved to be called Lala most of all, departed her loving family on December 15, 2020.
She was born in Bamban, Tarlac Philippines on January 6th, 1945 to Florentina Vergara Conde and Aguedo Conde.
Josefina was mother to Warren Jeffrey Conde Tomas, who passed away on September 27, 2016, Joseph Anthony Conde Tomas, and Janice Lou Tomas Laico. She raised her children with her husband to be strong, independent and kind instilling in them the value of family, charity and perseverance.
Josefina spent her entire career as a teacher. She first began her career at the Woodridge School in the Philippines with her partner and friend Inday Matugas, from a one room school to a huge multi campus establishment. When she moved her family to the United States in 1990, Josefina continued her career in education by working as a nursery school teacher in several different child care centers. Most of her tenure was at The Goddard School in Piscataway. Aside from her career, Josefina's true passion in life was her mission to help those in need and uplift everyone who crossed her path.
She is survived by her husband Warren Foster Tomas with whom she shared a 47 year loving marriage; her children, Joseph Anthony Conde Tomas and Janice Lou Tomas Laico; her son in law, John Anthony Laico; her future daughter in Law, Amanda Almieda and her two granddaughters, Sawyer Elizabeth Laico and Dylan Paige Laico who brought joy and purpose back into her life.
Aside from her immediate family, Josefina is survived by her sisters, Auring Conde Granadoz, Letty Vergara Conde, Aida Conde Hernandez and Carol Conde Ilano,
She was beloved by her nieces and nephews and their children who she loved and cherished like her own most specially, Lalaine Granadoz Serrano who was like a first child to her.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held in the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd. Piscataway, N 08854 on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at beginning at 9am followed by a 10:30am funeral mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Piscataway.
Josefina will be making her long journey to her final resting place in the Philippines alongside her son Warren Jeffrey Tomas. In Lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in her name so that her charities in the Philippines can be continued.
