Obituary of Dorothy Olga Hamilton
Dorothy Olga (Acton, Huber) Hamilton, 94 years old, passed away in her sleep at the Pines at Whiting on Thursday, December 24, 2020.
Born in Manhattan to the late Dora and Lewis Hugo Acton, she was raised in Woodbridge, NJ where Dorothy met her first husband Julius Anton Huber. They resided in Piscataway, NJ for several years. After the death of Julius, Dorothy married James W. Hamilton of the Oak Tree Section of Edison NJ where they resided before retiring to Whiting, New Jersey.
A longtime member of the New Durham Chapel in Piscataway, NJ she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Good News Club and more. She enjoyed roller skating and was an excellent seamstress. Dorothy also worked part time at the Piscataway Mayors Office until she retired in her 70’s.
After more than fifty years of marriage, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, James.
Surviving are her children, Judith Dambach of Brick and her husband Fred, John “Jack” Huber of New Orleans, LA, Dorothy Lynn Wilhelm of Monroe and her husband Bill, Gail Andrew of Port St. Lucie, FL and her husband Tom, James Hamilton, Jr. of Carrolton, VA, as well as ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2020 from 2pm-4pm at the McCriskin - Gustafson Home of Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, NJ.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2020 McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals at 10 am followed by burial in Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge, NJ
