Obituary of Ronald E. Koye

Piscataway, NJ – Ronald Ernest Koye, 79, passed away on January 1, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.  Born and raised in New Brunswick, he was the oldest son of Ernie and Charlotte (Utasz) Koye. Ron had resided in Piscataway with his family since 1968.

In Ron’s early years, he worked as a truck and bus driver.  In 1970, he joined the Piscataway Police Department and bravely spent his career as a Patrolman until his retirement in 2000. After retirement, he was an avid outdoorsman and a licensed private detective.

He belonged to the PBA Local 93 and was a member of the National Adventurer’s Association.  He was truly a jack of all trades and loved designing, building and creating things. He enjoyed helping others and would drop everything to assist someone in need. He loved hunting, fishing, watching boxing and football, classic cars and riding motorcycles.  He spent many summers taking trips to Disney World with his family and was always actively living his life to the fullest.

Ron will be missed immensely by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Marge; his daughter Colleen Miklaszewski and son in law Bruce of Piscataway;  and his granddaughter Kacie Krause and grandson in law Joseph of Summit.  He will also be missed by his brother Raymond  Koye and sister in law Candy, and sisters Jeannie Locke and Lorraine Ondre.  Ron cherished his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and large extended family. He left an indelible mark on countless other friends, colleagues and his fellow brothers in blue past and present.

Visitation will be held in Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 4-8pm and on Saturday, January 9, 2021 beginning 10:00 am.

Funeral services will begin 10:30 am on Saturday, January 9, 2021 in the funeral home followed by mausoleum entombment at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
