Obituary of Donald R. Wilson
Middlesex, NJ – Donald R. Wilson, 84, passed away at CareOne at Somerset Valley in Bound Brook on January, 3, 2021. Born in Jersey City to the late Raymond and Mary (Zarnowski) Wilson, Don lived in Kearney and Little Ferry until he married Jean K. (Staron) and they moved to Middlesex fifty-five years ago to raise their family.
An honorably discharged veteran, Don served proudly in the United States Army from 1954-1956. He was an Engineer with Motorola in Glen Rock and retired from Regional Communications in Woodbridge. Don’s true love in life was being a HAM Radio Operator and his call sign was K2DSV. He enjoyed being an amateur pilot, loved music and belonged to several Amateur Radio clubs. Back in the 1970’s, he was the host of Sunday Serenade on WBRW 1170 AM radio.
Predeceased by his two siblings; James and Martha, Don leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Jean and their two children; Arlene Wilson Ritter and her husband Andrew of Stockton and Eric Wilson of Bound Brook. He will be missed by his three grandchildren; Kirsten, Evan and Kali as well as two siblings; Judy DeFazio and Mary Karnoski.
Visitation will be held in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm and on Friday, January 8, 2021 beginning 10:00 am.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:30 am followed by burial at Bound Brook Cemetery in Bound Brook. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent to (www.cancer.org) or (www.diabetes.org) would be appreciated.
