George M. Markle

Age: 81 * Middlesex, NJ

Middlesex, NJ – George M. Markle, 81, passed away at him home on February 2, 2021.  Born in Riverside to the late John and Palma (Bonitelli) Markle, he lived in Palmyra prior to settling to Middlesex fifty years ago.

George enlisted in the United States Army, retired from the Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel and was honorably discharged after faithfully serving his country during the Vietnam War.  He earned his BS from Cornell University and MS from Rutgers.  He retired from Rutgers University where he worked as a Regulatory Entomologist.  He was in the 2003 Interregional Research Project #4 and was a co-author of Food and Feed, Crops of the U.S.

George was formerly active with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, was a life member of the American Legion Post 306 and was president of the Middlesex Jaycees.  He loved his time as the Office of Emergency Management Coordinator in Middlesex but his favorite time spent was with family; especially watching anything History and Military related with his grandson Dillon.

Predeceased by his daughter and her husband, Nicole and Henry Goodspeed and his sister Mary Markle, George leaves behind his loving wife Nancy (Lambert) Markle and their sons; John and Beth of Alamogordo, NM and David of Austin, TX.  He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren; Dillon Michael and Devynn Goodspeed, Madison A. Markle and Christopher and his wife Melanie Markle and his great-granddaughter Ariella.

At this time, all services for George will be privately handled by Middlesex Funeral Home.
