Obituary of Nicola DeSantis
South Plainfield – Nicola DeSantis, 61, died Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ, due to a valiant fight against Covid-19.
Born in Melizzano Italy to Antonio and Maria DeSantis, Nicola immigrated to the United States in 1971 and settled to South Plainfield. He graduated from South Plainfield High School and continued his studies in Teterboro School of Aeronautics.
Nick was currently serving as the Technical Service Manager for MG America, a pharmaceutical machinery manufacturing company based in Italy. He started as the only technician and grew to manage eight others. Nick had grown with MG America and was a vital asset to the team because of his knowledge and experience over the last twenty-nine years.
Nick was a passionate, loving and hard-working husband, father, son, brother, and friend to all. Anyone who met him felt they were a part of his family immediately. There was nothing he could not do, or if given the chance, would not learn to do. The world and our family were far better off for having him in their lives.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Donahue) DeSantis; three children, Thomas Zullinger, Michelle DeSantis, Angela DeSantis; his son-in-law, Kevin Cardenas; his grandson, Shane Zullinger; his parents, Antonio and Maria DeSantis; his sister, Lina DeSantis; his sister and brother-in-law Rosa Anna and Richard Szeliga, and their children Melissa Zurawiecki, Stephanie Szeliga, and Richard Szeliga. Also surviving are his many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and family across the world.
