Christine Cecelia Foster

Age: 71 * Piscataway

Piscataway, NJ – Christine Cecelia (Butler) Foster, 71, passed away at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick on April 20, 2021.  Born in Bronx, NY to the late Robert Raymond and Lillian Cecelia (Mackey) Butler, Chris spent her early years in Flushing, NY.  Chris married the late Richard George Foster and resided in Newark, DE prior to settling to Piscataway nearly forty years ago.

Chris was dedicated to helping others and worked for forty years as a Registered Nurse.  Throughout her career, she worked in numerous settings, including many years in hospitals to transitioning to a doctor’s office.  Prior to retirement, she was a school nurse and worked as a Case Manager for Aetna Health, receiving a prestigious Platinum Award for her years of excellence within the company.

For over thirty years, Chris was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish in Middlesex.  Chris enjoyed spending time with her family, loved the beach, anywhere tropical or Walt Disney World.

A proud wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, Chris will be missed dearly by her entire family, including her nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Richard and brother Robert, Chris leaves behind her daughter Jeanne Foster and her significant other Philip Mercado of Piscataway, son Richard Foster and his wife Susan of Portsmouth, RI, three grandchildren; Bryan, Sean and Olivia as well as her siblings; Rosemary Butler and her husband William, Kevin Butler and his wife Julie, Bruce Butler and Allison Butler.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 9:00 am followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish in Middlesex.

Mausoleum entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Christine Foster can be directed to: Lung Cancer Fund, Montefiore Medical Center, Development Office, 3325 Bainbridge Avenue, Bronx, NY 10467
