Obituary of Eliseo B. Añana
Piscataway Township – Eliseo B. Añana, 84, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 from JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in Inabanga, Philippines in 1936, Eliseo immigrated to Brazil in the 1970s before setting to the United States. He initially resided in Jersey City prior to settling in Piscataway in 1980.
A mechanical engineer in the Philippines and Brazil, Eliseo worked as a machinist in Plainfield until his retirement. Devoted to the Catholic Church, Eliseo was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Piscataway where he was a member of the Our Lady of Fatima Filipino Association. He was also a member of the Bohol Society International in Jersey City and Couples for Christ.
Eliseo enjoyed watching classic movies, woodworking, reading the daily newspaper and keeping up on soccer and boxing. He also enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife, Maria A. Añana of Piscataway; two children, Elizabeth Reyes and husband Marvin of Belleville, NJ and Dr. Michael Añana and wife Jissette Lopez of Jersey City and three grandchildren, Leo, Louis and Julia. He will also be missed by his three sisters, Lelia Magtoto, Elsa Jumamoy and Isabelita Cuevas.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 9:15AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass at 10:30AM in Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Piscataway.
Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
Family and friends may gather on Wednesday from 5-9PM in the funeral home.
