Obituary of Sally Lou Mezzo

Whiting, NJ – Sally Lou (Woods) Mezzo, 66, passed away peacefully at Willow Creek Rehabilitation Center in Somerset on Sunday, May 31, 2021.  Born in Elizabeth to the late Joseph and Alice (Clove) Woods, she was raised in Kenilworth, NJ. She lived in Garwood, NJ for several years prior to settling in Toms River and then Whiting, NJ.

For over twenty years, Sally was a banker for Sovereign Bank in Scotch Plains, NJ and later Valcor Engineering located in Union.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, taking trips to Cape May and loved animals.  Sally liked arts and crafts and loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandson.

Sally leaves behind her loving daughter Alissa Rella and her husband Sean of South Plainfield, grandson Grayson and her siblings; Rose Catalano and her husband Pete and Joseph Woods Jr. She also leaves behind her former husband Thomas Mezzo.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM.  And 11 AM funeral mass will follow at Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield.
