I worked for Mark at his machine shop in Somerville on Middaugh St., Mark was a very talented machinist, a great teacher and all around nice guy. I still use the metal working skills he taught me today. I remember Frank Cyburt and Lenny too. When I heard of his passing it reminded me of how good he always treated everyone that worked there. I met Mark 42 years ago when he was best man at my wedding. He remained a loyal and supportive friend to both myself and my husband Frank. He was the sort of friend who once drove from Somerville to Kenilworth just to change a flat tire for me when I was stranded on the side of the road. The fact that he didn't think twice about doing it shows the type of special person he was.
Throughout his illness he never complained and remained upbeat during phone conversations with my husband. We all prayed for a positive outcome, but sadly that was not meant to be. I will always be grateful for the opportunity I had to know Mark. He was indeed a once in a lifetime friend. As devastating as his loss is, we are all better off for having known him.
My deepest sympathy to his family.

Dear Nancy,
I only met Mark once or twice but I thought I knew him through you. You always spoke about all the projects he used to do around the house and after work he would have dinner ready for you. I heard about all your dinner dates and the lovely vacations you took. The love you had for each other was very plain to see. Everyone should have someone in their life, who loves and cares for their spouse and children the way Mark did.
He will always live on in your heart.
I am so very sorry for your loss ~
