Obituary of Manuel Castel Locsin

Please share a memory of Manuel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Piscataway, NJ – Manuel Castel Locsin, 60, passed away suddenly at his home in the early hours of Sunday, August 29, 2021.  Born in Manila, Philippines to the late Kong Su and Linda (Locsin) Sio, he started his life working in the Philippines as a Metro Aid, factory worker and driver.

He saw the world and traveled to many countries including Taiwan, Saudi and Japan. As he became a successful businessman, in 1994, Manny chose to leave everything behind in the Philippines and come to America to be with his family. Until his untimely death, Manny devoted his life to raise his son, and unconditionally love his wife and enjoy his grandson.”

Manny currently was working as a Dietary Technician at JFK Hartwyk at Cedar Brook in Plainfield and belonged to the SEIU Local 99.  He enjoyed fishing, swimming, basketball, and loved working on cars, doing home repairs and even woodworking as a carpenter.  A true family man, he was always looking to make people smile and laugh.  Without a doubt in his mind, he never once hesitated to help someone less fortunate or in need.  Manny was a member of the Sio Family Association and worked with the Philippine National Red Cross, all in the Philippines.  He was water safety certified and was a certified NAUI Scuba Diver in Aramco, Saudi Arabia. In his spare time, was a simming instructor and lifeguard.

Predeceased by his brother Mario, Manny was a loving husband to Jocelyn, father to Brian and his wife Danni, grandfather to Ryder, brother to Mariano and his wife Jinky and Marites and her husband Pops and brother-in-law to Linda.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 5-9pm at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854.  Due to Labor Day on Monday, a 10:30am funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway with mausoleum entombment to follow within the Chapel of Risen Christ at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
