Obituary of Steven J. McGinnis
Steven J. “Mugs” McGinnis, 62, passed away on September 2, 2021 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Steve was born in Summit but resided in South Plainfield his entire life.
Steve was a hardworking man his whole life and always took care of the people he cared about. He loved the simple things in life, like going home to his wife and cat, Annie. Steve loved his hometown and made many friends along his way. His stories were endless of a life well lived.
He loved running his local business, Steve’s Landscaping, and had many customers that just loved him. He was always kind and considerate with people in need and would help out when he could.
Predeceased by his father James P. McGinnis, Steve will be sadly missed by his wife Diane Russo, stepson Jay Leahy, Jr., mother Grace McGinnis, brother and sister-in-law Michael and Laurie McGinnis, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
at the request of the family, all services will be held private.
