Obituary of Bridget Vietri
Middlesex, NJ – Bridget Vietri, 87, known to everyone as “Aunt B,” died peacefully at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison on January 6, 2022. Born in Newark to the late Joseph and Rose (Ascolese) Vietri, Aunt B has been a resident of the borough for most of her entire adult life.
She worked as a legal secretary, but most recently worked in the clerical department of the Borough of Middlesex, retiring many years ago. Above all things in life, Aunt B lived for her family. Even though she would always tell everyone that you only have one mother, father, etc., she was considered a second mom to many and will be missed by all those that knew her.
Aunt B loved spending time in the water; whether it be in the pool in her backyard, or down at the shore. Aunt B never missed any family activity and could always be found attending any school function, pop-warner cheer tournaments to hosting the Sunday dinners the “old fashioned Italian way.”
A very selfless woman, Aunt B was generous to anyone in need and being the matriarch of the family, and the glue that held it all together, she will be deeply missed by her brother Anthony “Red” Vietri, niece Michele Tackach and her husband John, nephew Joseph Vietri and his wife Cheryl and her niece Karen Zinckgraf. Aunt B will never be forgotten by her family and friends, especially her great nieces and nephews; Charles “CJ” and Ann Marie Guadagnino, Kaitlin, Kristie and Kara Tackach, Michael Vietri as well as Elizabeth Zinckgraf.
She was predeceased by her father Joseph, mother and best friend Rose, nephew Joey and her sister Lucy.
Visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 4-7pm and on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 beginning 9:15am.
On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, funeral services will begin 9:45am in the funeral home followed by a 10:30am funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex followed by burial at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Aunt B’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) would be appreciated.
