Obituary of Joseph W. Smiecinski
Joseph W. Smiecinski, 95, passed away on February 3, 2022 in South Plainfield.
Born and raised in Harrison, Joe was a lifelong resident of the town.
He graduated from Harrison High School in 1944 and immediately following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving our country during WWII.
Following his honorable discharge in 1946, Joe enrolled in Farleigh Dickinson University and graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor’s Degree.
He is predeceased by two sisters, Jeannie Lobacz and Ann Malecki and three brothers, Frank, Walter and Edward Smiecinski.
Surviving is his sister, Helen Malecki of South Plainfield and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 9am followed by a 10am funeral mass at Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, South Plainfield.
Joe will be laid to rest following mass in his family plot at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
