Obituary of Kenneth J Buratti
Piscataway, NJ - Kenneth J. Buratti, 67, passed away in a tragic industrial accident on February 9, 2022, in Middlesex, NJ. Born in Plainfield, NJ, to the late Vincent and Rachel (DiSalvo) Buratti, Ken proudly served his country during the Vietnam War Era as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. With his wife Linda, Ken was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma in Yuma, AZ, then later, in 1978, he moved back to Piscataway, NJ, to be near friends and family and raise their new children.
Ken was an owner/operator of Bridgewater Disposal Service located in Middlesex, NJ. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his friends playing golf, a night of poker with the guys, and sharing a good glass of Scotch while talking and laughing with friends. Ken loved to give back and was active within the community, volunteering for many years with the Piscataway Chiefs Pop Warner Football program and the local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Above all, Ken loved his family. He cherished and adored his wife Linda, the love of his life, best friend, and high school sweetheart of almost forty-eight years. He loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart and was a friend to everyone. He always had a smile on his face, and his kindness, love, and compassion radiated to all around him.
Ken will forever be in the hearts of his beloved wife Linda S. (Potochar) Buratti and their two children; Melissa George and her husband Michael of Boca Raton, FL, and Christopher Buratti and his wife Amy of Dunellen, NJ. His grandchildren William George, Mackenzie and Abigail Buratti, and his mother-in-law Shirley Jelliffe will also dearly miss him. Predeceased by brother Peter, Ken is survived by his siblings, Lynn Heinrich of Stewartsville, Lee of Orange County, CA, Roger of Piscataway, and sister-in-law Barbara of Manville.
Visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846, on Monday, February 21, 2022, from 1-3 pm and 5-8 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather directly to Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, for a 9:00 am funeral mass followed by burial at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
