Obituary of Nancy T. Firrello

Nancy T. Firrello, 89, of South Plainfield died Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.

Born in East Harlem, Manhattan, NY to the late John and Lillie Mattera, Nancy was raised in New York City before settling to South Plainfield where she raised her family.  

Prior to retirement, Nancy worked as a Bus Driver for the Piscataway Board of Education, to which she was the head of the Drivers’ Union.  She was an active and outgoing person, and a former member of the Adams Ladies Club in North Brunswick. Nancy also loved cooking which brought her family together.

Predeceased by her husband, Anthony Firrello Sr.; surviving are her three sons, Steven Firrello and wife Terri, twin sons, Anthony Firrello Jr., and Mitchell Firrello and wife Karen; she will also be missed by her granddaughter, Kimberly and brother, Sonny Mattera.

Funeral services will begin on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 9AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield at 10AM.

Family and friends may gather in the funeral home on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 4-8PM.
