My father was a fellow resident on the Eagle Unit at the Menlo Park New Jersey Veteran's Home. In the past few years that my father has been a resident there, George brought the two of us and other family members a lot of joy and laughter. He introduced himself to us the first time we met him as "Runaway George", because he was always running around the residence doing this and that. You always could find him bopping and swaying to the music at the concerts there, running to the ice cream socials, making his way to the laundry room to do his laundry, inquiring about something at the nurse's station and my favorite, counting his loot after winning at Bingo. I always stopped near the front entrance to view his military photo on the "Wall of Heroes". His zest for life and friendly manner seen in that photo was exactly the same man I met with my dad. My dad, family and myself will miss George so very much, but he will never be forgotten. He made such an amazing impression on me that I will probably think of him everyday. When I have a tough day for any reason, I think of George who enjoyed everyday of his life the fullest and best he could and I smile and get the drive to "Carry On". I feel extremely Lucky and Privileged to have met George and to have had him enter into my life.
Thank you, George, for The Amazing Memories!!!
Susan Goodman and Father, George England

George was such a funny and good man. Living next door to him for years in Stephen Crane, I can’t hear the song “Volare” without thinking of him. I still call it George’s Shower Song! You will be missed by everyone that knew you. But you are at peace with all those that you love that have gone before. Rest In Peace.
