Obituary of Thomas Anthony Katowich, Sr.
Manville – Thomas Anthony Katowich, Sr., 69, died Friday, January 27, 2023 at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in Plainfield to the late Anthony and Catherine (Szczecinski) Katowich, Tom grew up in South Plainfield, graduating from South Plainfield High School.
Tom retired from UPS in 2016 after 33 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed stopping at a diner for a quick bite and catching up with friends. He was a car enthusiast, enjoyed golfing and fishing in warmer weather, and watching TV and movies.
Surviving are his two children, Jordan Lamastro and husband William and Thomas Katowich, Jr. as well as his nephew who he raised as a son, Matthew Sabol. He will also be missed by his siblings, Barbara Paritte and husband Jack, Cathy Nowicki and husband Stanley, and Michael Katowich along with his nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 9-11AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
