Obituary of Ann Burgess

South Plainfield - Ann ( nee Trevisan ) Burgess, 102, died Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. 

Born in Alberta, Canada to Maria (Zavataro) and Corrado Trevisan, Ann came to the United States at a young age and resided in Hoboken before settling to South Plainfield in 1957.  Ann had been employed by the former Plessey Dynamic Company in Hillside for a number of years before her retirement in 1983. 

Ann was a nearly a 70 year member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield and enjoyed spending her time crocheting, cooking and more importantly being with her friends and extended family.  As a Christening gift, she created a beautiful crocheted blanket for each of her grand children and great grandchildren.  She gave of her time and energy with love and understanding to all those around her. 

Ann was predeceased by her husband, Filmore Burgess whom she married in January of 1944 and her sister, Elsie; She is survived by her three sons, Steve and his wife Cindy of Bon Air, VA., Robert and his wife Candy of Branchburg and Philip and his wife Barbara of South Plainfield.  Ann will also be missed by her five grandchildren, Lauren, Pamela, Amanda, Jesse and Jeffrey and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 beginning at 9:15am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10am funeral mass at Church of the Sacred Heart, South Plainfield.

Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
