Piscataway – Magdalene “Midge” Ward, 69 died suddenly on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. 

 

Born in Plainfield to the late Walter and Mary Tackvic, Midge is a lifelong resident of Piscataway and a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church.  She started her career in sales with the Watchung Sears moving to Lowes in Piscataway where she worked for 15 years.

 

A kind soul, Midge had a love for animals in need, especially cats.  She also enjoyed collecting dolls and figurines and in her spare time, coloring and completing puzzles. 

 

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Philip Ward and brother, Michael Tackvic his wife, Charlene and nephew, Brian.  Midge will also be missed by a host of extended family, Debra Schooler and husband Steve; their children, Kim Hammer and her children, Graysen, Delaney and Rowan and Ryan Schooler and fiancé, Ashley and children, Olivia, Addison and Harper along with friends she has met along the way and her beloved cat, Daisy.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 9:30AM in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road Piscataway NJ 08854 followed by a funeral mass beginning at 11AM in Our Lady of Fatima RC Church.

 

Entombment will be held in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.

 

Donations in Midge’s memory may be made of an ASPCA or similar charity in support of animals.
