Obituary of John Lauria, Jr.
John Lauria Jr.,68, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday,March19, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick .
A lifelong resident of Piscataway, John attended Piscataway High School and graduated in 1973.
On November 8, 1979, John married the love of his life, Lynn Pangborn, with whom he shared countless cherished moments and built a life together.
John's professional journey began as a farmer at John and Joan's road stand, where he developed a deep love for fresh vegetables that he was able to eat while picking them.
In 1980, he ventured into entrepreneurship by establishing Lauria Landscaping LLC, which flourished into a thriving family business. His passion for landscaping was matched only by his dedication to his family, as all of his children worked alongside him, making it a true family endeavor.
Beyond his professional achievements, John's greatest joy was spending quality time with his loved ones. Nothing made John happier than seeing them happy.
An annual tradition for the Lauria family was their summer trips to Wildwood, where they created lasting memories by the ocean. John enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the ocean listening with his music surrounded by his family, sharing their fondest memories.
Renowned for his generosity and genuine kindness, some thought he should have been a therapist instead of a landscaper as he was a great source of comfort and support for those around him. Whether offering sage advice or lending a helping hand, he touched the lives of many,
He was known to put others ahead himself and he truly had a heart of gold. His selflessness and compassion were unparalleled, earning him the admiration and respect of all who knew him and words can’t be described how much he will be missed.
Predeceased by his father John Sr. and most recently his mother Joan, who passed on March 12, 2024, John leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Lynn; his children, Jenny Lauria and her significant other John Cardinal of Branchburg, Jaime Lauria of Piscataway, John Lauria and his wife Jessica of Middlesex and Jared and Jake Lauria both of Piscataway; sisters, Susan Serido and Lisa Leone; brothers, Timothy Lauria Sr. and his wife Donna and William Lauria and his wife Janice and grandchildren, Jaila, Jailynn, Joseph and Jacob. Also surviving is several extended relatives and countless friends.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 11:30am at Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway, NJ 08854.
